"Great Success" - Borat Hockey

As of last night in China, a hockey game went down in the city of Changchun where the Asian Winter Games are currently taking place.

The "Glorious" country of Kazakhstan beat Thailand 52-1. That's almost a goal/minute. The Kazaks outshot the Thais 97-7.

During the Opening game for Kazakhstan, they beat UAE 38-0.

Wow, now THAT would make Borat proud. "Great Success! Chinquay!"

Zippers - they are from China

I was watching How Do They Do It on the Discovery Network and they were talking about how they make zippers in the world. Apparently about 80% of the world's zippers are made in China and their output is supposed to grow up to 20% annually.

I guess the Chinese are planning to take over the world's economy 1 zipper at a time!

Anyways, it's pretty crazy to think about that eh? You get the idea.

By the way, the biggest zipper factory is called YQQ or the Great Wall Zipper. The YKK logo on zippers is a Japanese brand.

"Minority Report" in Canadian Politics / NFL

I just finished watching The Hour on CBC with George Stroumboulopoulos. One of the topics was about number of visible minorities in the House of Commons and if Canada will ever get a non-white Prime Minister. The show went on to talk about the the US presidency candidates Hillary Clinton and Obama. Then there was the turn, an interesting comparison to the 2 Superbowl teams' coaches whom both happen to be black this year.

These 2 coaches are the National Football League's first and second black coaches to appear in the Superbowl (41). The point is that this (2 black coaches) would never have happened of NFL did not impose the infamous "Rooney Rule" - named after Pittsburgh's owner Dan Rooney.

The Rooney Rule requires all 32 NFL teams/owners to interview at least one minority candidate when filling a head coach position. The alternative option is to be fined for not interviewing at least 1 minority candidate.

As of today, there are 5 black coaches in the 32 team NFL. This number is more than any other season in NFL's history.

Bringing it back to minorities in Canadian Politics, I don't think affirmative action is the way to go because the best man should get the job. However, Canada has been somewhat slow in representing its diverse population especially over the last 20 years. Perhaps, all Canada needs to do is give the minorities a chance in its Parliament. Afterall, the minorities undeniably have a strong role in this country's economic growth.

The following has nothing to do with what I discussed above, but I will never forget this quote from Dirty Pretty Things -

"We (the minorities/illegal immigrants) are the people that drive your cabs, clean your rooms, and suck your cocks."

# 1 Dunk of the Top 50 from The Best Damn Sports Show

So here it is, ranked the #1 dunk out of 50 by yours truly - The Best Damn Sports Show. 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney Australia.

Your boy, Vince Carter, over a Frenchman, Frederic Weis (does his name really matter? he's a VC dunk victum). The guy VC dunked on, or over I should say, was 7'2" or 2.18m.

The French media called this infamous dunk "le dunk de la mort" aka "the Dunk of Death".

Song: "Damn It Feels Good to Be a Gangsta" by The Geto Boys (this was also in the movie- Office Space)

My Movies

Just came home from watching The Last King of Scotland. I am still shaking a bit from the last scene. I love powerful movies. Movies that put perspective on things. They are better when they are true stories. I come of of them wanting to do more good things in life. Not necessarily donating to charities. My take on donation has always been away from the conventional. I think a lot of the money donated to NGO's are tied up in the bereaucracy and only a fraction of the money dated makes to the people that actually need the help.

Here's my take: if you wanted to help somebody, go to them with your supplies and physically help them.
Anyways, here is a list of the movies in the recent years which have impacted my view of the world. They are not in an order for any reasons.

1. American History X
2. Hotel Rwanda
3. The Last King of Scotland
4. City of God
5. Tsotsi
6. Dirty Pretty Things
7. House of Sand and Fog
8. Everyday People
9. The Magdalene Sisters
11. The Corporation
12. In America
13. Born Into Brothels
14. The Painted Veil
15. Borat
16. Blood Diamond
17. Thank You For Smoking
18. Babel
19. Crash
20. Glory Road
21. Remember the Titans
22. Little Miss Sunshine
23. Little Children
24. In The Bedroom
25. Y Tu Mama Tambien
26. Croupier (The Giver aka The Dealer)

Get On Da Mic- Steve 1 Dan 0

Before Xmas in 2006, my man Dan and I had a rap battle at his place. He just got this new PS2 game - Get on da Mic!

It's basically a rap version of kareoke. I lost the first 3 to him then won the next 13 straight before dropping 3 more and winning 4 more.

This reminds me of "Makin Da Band" sketch from the Chapelle Show. Here's a pic of Dan rockin' on the mic and Chapelle Show.

2006 New Year's Eve Dinner - Beets

Don't they look very innocent? But they make your poop red!

So I was just on the shitters and made this huge "monster log" right?

I was reading some book on china and all the sudden i looked down and saw the water all red. i thought perhaps i have my period now. so i jumped off the seat and looked closer and the red is not of bloody red. but it was more of a red dye in hue.

so i concluded that the colour must be from the "shit-load" of beets i had yesterday (no pun intended) with my bocuse d'ord roasted chicken dinner entre.

i then proceeded to wipe my buttocks, but they didnt' hurt, nor was there any blood.
so i guess i just wanted to let everyone know that i am a-okay.
